Environmental & Social Responsibility A shared commitment to a sustainable future

Environmental & Social Responsibility We take responsibility

Responsibility comes first at Kromberg & Schubert. We understand that our actions have far-reaching impacts on the environment, society and our employees. This prompts us to promote sustainable practices that address both environmental and social challenges.

We use green initiatives and investments to minimise our ecological footprint. At the same time, we are committed to social justice, diversity in the workplace and the health and well-being of our employees. We also attach considerable importance to ensuring that our suppliers comply with comparable standards in regard to sustainability and social responsibility. This holistic responsibility is an integral part of our corporate culture and encourages us to induce positive change – in the interests of a better future for us all.

Social Responsibility Our personal concern

At Kromberg & Schubert, social commitment has always been a pivotal element in our corporate philosophy. We specifically support projects in the areas of education, culture, sport and social affairs. By engaging in partnerships with social organisations, we create opportunities for marginalised groups and help to improve the quality of life in our community. All of our endeavours aim to make a positive and enduring contribution to society. When emergencies occur such as natural disasters or conflicts, we do not hesitate to offer immediate assistance, e.g. with fundraising campaigns and humanitarian aid supplies. Our employees demonstrate outstanding personal commitment to these valuable initiatives and invest time and energy that extends far beyond their professional duties.

Responsibility towards our employees Our most valuable asset

Employee satisfaction

We organise country campaigns at our locations that are specifically tailored to the wishes and needs of our employees. Kromberg & Schubert runs company canteens in some plants, provides transport, offers company accommodation and actively promotes preventive healthcare. Our aim is for all our employees to feel completely at ease and valued.

We offer a broad package of benefits for this purpose. They include fitness programmes, subsidies for local public transport such as the job ticket, a company pension scheme and various employee events. Our benefits-in-kind card, which comes with a monthly tax-free top-up of €50, is particularly popular. In addition, employees benefit from exclusive discounts such as preferential rates on tutoring courses with GoStudent or corporate benefit programmes from many prestigious companies.

Our numerous events add even more colour to everyday working life and build cohesion across the various divisions. Summer and Christmas parties, after-work events, the Christmas market and end of Lent celebrations are among the highlights of the year.

Family-friendly employer

At Kromberg & Schubert, we spare no efforts to create a working environment that encourages a healthy work-life balance. Flexible part-time models help young parents to reconcile the demands of family life and their careers. Remote work and working from home arrangements maximise flexibility for our employees. With up to 26 remote working days per quarter and the option of hybrid arrangements, we lay the ideal foundation for a healthy work-life balance.

Continued development

We believe it is our responsibility to create the best possible conditions for the personal and professional development of our employees. This includes specialised training, personal development programmes and innovative learning methods. Moodle, our international learning platform, enables employees around the world to remain up to date with new workflows and experience personal development.

Kromberg & Schubert offers end-to-end training and education concepts as well as personnel development programmes for employees at all levels – from young professionals to managers. One particular highlight is our basic training, which teaches new colleagues at an international location how to build a cable harness. Not only do they acquire practical insight into production, they also gain valuable experience at one of our locations around the world.

Regular feedback meetings are an integral part of our corporate culture. The aim is for each employee to receive individual feedback at least once a year and to discuss ongoing development and career prospects together with their supervisor.

Diversity and equal opportunities

Diversity is a key success factor for Kromberg & Schubert. People with different perspectives and backgrounds produce creative solutions and innovations. Over 52,500 employees worldwide – including around 1,300 in Germany – are committed to the success of our company. With a female quota of 54%, we prove that diversity for us is a living reality and not just a vision.

We stand up for equal opportunities and recognise all the rights of our employees. Discrimination based on skin colour, origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, health restrictions or social background has no place at our company. We create a working environment that promotes and embodies respect and equal treatment.

Focus on safe and healthy work

Health protection
We do not believe that health is irrelevant until we become ill. Instead we focus on preventive measures to create a healthy working environment and improve the well-being of our employees. These include health days with a focus on nutrition, stress management and exercise, as well as sporting events such as company runs or our Kromberg & Schubert Olympics in Mexico.

Occupational safety
With our certified occupational health and safety management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 45001, we reduce accidents at work and occupational illnesses and create safe working conditions. Safety officers, company doctors and trained first aiders actively contribute to the safety of our workforce.

Human rights
The protection of human rights is non-negotiable for us. Our Code of Conduct obliges all employees to respect fundamental values such as equal treatment and opportunities. Kromberg & Schubert does not tolerate discrimination, child labour and any form of coercion. We are committed to upholding the dignity and rights of each individual and creating a respectful working environment for everyone.
