A total of ten partners from industry and research have been working closely together for three years on the Next2OEM project to demonstrate the automated assembly and installation of wiring harnesses, including complete digitalisation. This shows how media breaks can be avoided, processes networked and efficiency potential leveraged along the entire value chain.
An important milestone has now been reached: the official presentation of the demonstrator took place at Audi in Ingolstadt. There, an impressive demonstration was given of how automated production and assembly of wiring harnesses can look in practice – from data-based development to installation in the car body.
The project was funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as part of the ‘Digitisation of Vehicle Manufacturers and the Supply Industry’ funding guideline and financed by the European Union.
We are proud to be part of this forward-looking consortium and to contribute our expertise to the development of innovative solutions. The intensive exchange with all project partners shows how important cooperation and shared visions are for technological progress.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all partners involved for their excellent cooperation and look forward to further groundbreaking developments.
